A rebuttal to what's going on with astrology right now.

No offence, Ellen, but you annoyed me today.

I need to address what's going on with the media.

The fact that the Earth has wobble is true, but there are only 12 signs in the zodiac INMHO.

The wobble of the Earth is what causes the astrological ages. The astrological ages are defined by the precession of the equinoxes.

The precession of the equinoxes was supposedly discovered by Hipparchus - observations attributed to him are dated from 147-127 BC (this is all on wikipedia).

The precession of the equinoxes also causes the fact that 0° Aries now, actually is in Pisces (this is all in my Bible, Parker's Astrology). That does not mean that someone who thinks they're an Aries is now a Pisces. The astrological signs do not correspond to the constellations anymore, due to the "wobble". Instead the sky was divided into 12 equal pie pieces, each being 30°.

Where the sun was at the moment you were born (the sign that newspaper and magazine horoscopes are based on) was not necessarily the constellation of your sign, but the pie piece of your sign.

I think what annoys me the most about what popular culture is saying about astrology is the complete disregard of the complexities of a chart. The emphasis is being placed on the sun signs, when every planet and other positions in the sky (i.e. the Ascendant and the Mid Heaven) are essential when completing and interpreting an astrological chart.

Alright, soap box is going away.
