What's a Rising Sign?

Your Rising Sign (or Ascendant) is the sign on the eastern horizon (if you dwell in the Northern Hemisphere) at your time of birth. It also represents who you are on a deeper level than your sun sign. To be clear, it's what people who are close to you see.

It took me many, many tries to find my rising sign. Once I did find it, though, it made sense that mine is Leo.

Leo's are typically loud, bossy and pompous. At their best, creativity is abundant. I've only recently honed my creativity and I feel like my life has been a struggle between my sun and rising signs - how people who are close to me view me vs. the type of first impression I make.

Now for Suze again. Her rising sign is 1° Capricorn. 1° is almost the cusp between Capricorn and Sagittarius. As I read about these 2 signs, I do believe that Susie's rising sign is Capricorn: caring, hard-working, love of children.

If you want to know what your rising sign is, I'm sure you can find an online calculator. If you want a really accurate calculation, send me your birth date, birth place (city) and birth time (this is VERY important). If you don't know, estimate (i.e. early morning, late night, lunchtime, etc.)

In the meantime,

Keep dreaming,

The Blistered Foot Astrologer
