Alright, I found THE astrology book: Parkers' Astrology. I would recommend it to anyone interested in Astrology.
If you speak to anyone who is serious about astrology, they more than likely do not read their daily horoscope in the newspaper. This is why I've switched from Cosmo and Glamour to Vogue and InStyle - no horoscopes in the latter.
Your Sun sign represents how you express yourself to the world. To me, this means that a sun sign sign merely scratches the surface of a person's character which is why I reject today's daily "horoscopes".
My personal birth chart shows that the sun was at 7°56' Scorpio at the minute I was born. This means that I express myself in a determined and passionate way. It also means that when I meet new people, I like to leave the impression that I am an intelligent individual with A LOT of energy.
The second chart I'm working on right now is that of my sister, Susie. The sun at her time of birth was at 24°33' Aquarius. I grew up with Susie, so it only makes sense to me to look at our charts together.
I always thought that Aquarians and Scorpions couldn't be anymore different. I was mistaken. Aquarius and Scorpio are both fixed signs - this brings about stubborness. Makes sense.
Aquarians are individualists. This reminds me of a story about Susie at one of my childhood birthday parties. She was walking in the opposite direction of the crowd during a game of musical chairs. When my mom told her that everyone else was going the other way, she responded simply by saying "I go my way". And she still does.
Another thing about Aquarians is that they're emotional, but private about it. Here's another Mary Jane/Susie clash: I am emotional, but I wear my heart on my sleeve (which to me, means that you can tell how I'm feeling by looking at my face).
